If you would have known me in high school, you would have been surprised if I didn’t eventually become a professional photographer — or at least something that justified the massive collection of photographs all over my bedroom walls.
I started out shooting film way back before digital was a thing, and I have a Master's Degree in Photography. I particularly love black and white documentary photography and abstract fine art. I initially did not imagine myself ever photographing weddings, but after the first one, I was hooked!
Photographs have the power to evoke memories and feelings long after they are taken, and that in itself, is very meaningful to me. I enjoy making beautiful photographs for people to look back on and not just remember what those moments looked like, but also what they felt like.
For me, creating beautiful images is a delicate balance. Capturing those fleeting moments that say, "I'm human, and I have feelings," but in a visually appealing manner.
I enjoy problem solving and puzzles, and I’m always up for a good challenge! Until I shot my first wedding, I didn't realize how perfectly weddings were suited for me.
Finding the best light or creating light in terrible lighting conditions is something that I have become particularly good at. Arranging my couples isn't just about making them look their best; it's about turning them into living, breathing pieces of art—art that occasionally blinks or needs a break to touch up makeup.
Traveling or lounging around the house with my husband and our adorable dog, Binny. As a wedding wedding photographer, getting married was an interesting experience! We broke all the traditional wedding rules. He helped me pick out my dress and we got ready together. We kinda do everything together, so I wouldn't have had it any other way!
